Legal Implications Of A "you Are The Father" Match.

Card image cap

Hello all, before revealing my identity to a potential child that I may have, as it was matched through ancestry DNA, I am concerned about the legal implications and the right way to approach this situation. The child claims that they are 18 years old (through an anonymous private online chat).

I would like to connect with the child and find out more but am afraid of any potential lawsuits for child support and any other payments that the child or their mother can bring upon me. I would still like to confirm if the child is 100% mine besides what ancestry DNA says (it shows I'm 100% the parent).

Any advice much appreciated.
