Stolen Money From My Father’s Church Bank Account
One of my family members was an authorized user on a bank account that was supposed to be used to help renovate my father’s church and the surrounding block. He has steadily been draining this account over at least a year and my father called me today in tears bc the money he uses to help feed people and take care of his church and neighborhood is down to $300 from the original $20,000 he had in there. I’ve only heard my father cry twice in my life. My cousin was the only other person who had access to this account.
My dad has been in contact with him recently and he had promised to put the money back in the account but has since stopped answering calls and messages.
It's also my understanding that my father was awarded grant money but he has yet to see that either. We assume my family member had a hand in stealing this as well.
Is there any legal action we can take at this point? Please, any advice is welcome.
