Should I Make A Police Report Or Press Charges Against A Boy Who Assaulted My Son?
My son is 10 yrs old in 5the grade , he is in Middle school with my daughter who’s 11.. I was called by the nurse to get my son because he fell and gashed his head open and needed to come get him. I went rushing out to pick him up I was introduced to the principal who in term informed me after gathering information another 5th grade pushed my son from behind which made him lose his balance and fall where his head gashed opened from a metal chair.. I was informed that my son didn’t provoke him he didn’t do anything for this to happen . I got my daughter out to go with me to the hospital . I was asked if I wanted to speak with the officer . at the time I just wanted to have my son rushed to the er due to his gash opened .i stated I would be back in couple days, she informed me that was fine.. I drove to the er , I kept asking my son what happened that had any altercation or did this boy do or say anything to him before or had an argument . which my son said no .I asked my daughter who stated she didn’t see the boy push him hut did see after he was being walked to the nurses office which made her freakout and started to cry seeing him like this.. While we were in the hospital I kept asking him again about the boy which he kept saying no.. it took my male friend to come over and look at him to f igure out that my son was lieing by the way I kept asking him about the joy and his response . My son finally told me the boy kept pushing him , sticking his foot out to try to trip him in class and. Say mean things to him since they started school.i asked if he had informed the teachers before he said yes but didn’t do anything.. im a single mom of 3 kids and missed work will miss work to check he is doing good at home . Im trying to do the best I can to provide . Now idk if i should sue the kids and parents. Press charges on only the kid ?II just don’t know what legal actions to do due to his age ..what i would do is have this kid be moved frm my sons classes and be punished at school. Im not sure if asking his parents to meet me would do anything at school.im not sure. We also live in Oklahoma
