My Parked Car Was Just Hit By A Girl Who Was Clearly Intoxicated , Then She Just Left And Her Brother And Parents Are Trying To Handle Everything. Should I Press Charges?
Location: Texas —- Me and all my brothers were in the house when we heard a loud boom that shook the upstairs of the house. Ran outside and seen my car that was parked on the street was now up on the curb and halfway in the yard, and a SUV was in the middle of the street with its right front end hanging, and right front tire bent all the way up. The girl at first tried to leave and just gave me her ID but told me not to call the cops, but I refused and asked for her insurance and she just started talking crazy. Not even 3 minutes after this, her dad comes and begs me not call the cops and I look around and she’s gone. Like they literally had her disappear in seconds lol. My car is not even driveable anymore it’s probably totaled but they did give me her insurance and everything else but I still feel this is wrong, and this could lead to something worse happening in the future. The cops did come as my neighbors probably called and said it had turned from an accident to an investigation cause she left but they couldn’t do much since I’m not sure if I should I press charges. Should I?
