Repo Company Took My Car To Another State

Card image cap

This is my throwaway account. I currently live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. My car was repossessed a little over 2 weeks ago in Oklahoma City. My lender told me if I want the car back, to pay the past due plus a repossession fee which ended up totaling $3600 and subsequently and additional month of car payment. I arranged a time to get some of my things out of my car, and started making calls to get help with making that payment. I started paying all of what they said to pay as the money came in. After I made the final payment early this week, the lender told me they would sen information over to the repo company to process releasing the car back to me. The lender said it shouldn’t take more than an hour to process. After a few hours, I called the lender, and they hadn’t heard word back from the repo company yet. Next morning (yesterday) I’m making calls again. Still no word from the repo company. So I called them and they told me it usually takes between 24 and 48 hours to process the release. Frustrated, I agreed to wait until today. I called this morning. They said I can pick it up on Monday, and gave me a Dallas address to pick it up and told me to bring a cashier’s check for $200 $275. Is that even legal?

Edit: additional fee clarification
