Rear Ended Another Car. Other Party Had A Wheelchair Ramp That Blocked Tail Lights And License Plate.

In AZ. I was at a stop light and the signal turned green. When we were about 100 yards past the intersection, the car in front of me slammed on their brakes. They and a witness said there was a kid on a bike that was in the road, so they stopped. I couldn’t see their tail lights due to the placement of their wheelchair ramp and rear ended them. I ended up getting the ticket but I don’t believe myself to be fully at fault. Is it worth fighting this or should I just swallow my pride?

EDIT: Thanks y’all - I posted this on behalf of my dad because we weren’t sure. The wheelchair ramp was pretty egregious (like the entire back end of this car is covered) and he was going with the flow of traffic. I appreciate all your input (except for the person who was inexplicably rude)
