Pharmacy Is Saying My Grandma Is Doctor Shopping

About 8 months ago my disabled grandma moved from my area to Columbus to live with her daughter. Her living situation didn’t work out down there because my aunt was hiding food and verbally abusive. So I moved her back to my area in with me.

Before she moved to Columbus she saw a primary care doctor and psychiatrist that she has been seeing for YEARS. And then when she moved to Columbus she saw a local primary care and psychiatrist for the 6-8 months that she lived there.

Once she moved up here we scheduled her to get in with a new doctor and psychiatrist. Her appointments were scheduled out a few weeks and months. During this waiting time she had to call her old doctor to send in refills for medications to this area to get her by and they knew that she was waiting for her appointments with the new doctor. A few weeks ago she had her first appointment with primary care and The first few prescriptions were filled without issues. She has her new psychiatrist appointment next week.

Now Walmart pharmacy is saying that she is doctor shopping and refusing to fill prescriptions that she’s been on for over 12 years. Nothing is new. It’s the same medication that’s she’s been on forever and the same dosage.

They also billed her Medicare for a prescription that they will not allow her to have.

How can I help her rectify the situation?
