Ontario - Person Is Sending Threatening Messages That Includes Causing Bodily Harm. What Can I Do Other Than Blocking?

Okay, so the story is… last month I went to visit my hometown in Ontario. I went out for drinks (and may have had a little too many) and ended up kissing someone I met that night. That was that, there was no further contact between the two of us and I came back to my respective city. Fast forward to a month later (now), I receive threatening messages from a person calling me every name in the book saying I destroyed their family. This person is threatening to physically assault me when they see me. Other than blocking this person, is there anything else I can do to ensure I don’t actually get assaulted? As far as I know, this person has 3 young children. Would this type of behaviour also warrant a call to CPS if the harassment continues? Obviously I don’t want to do that, but I also don’t want to have to fear visiting home or being in public spaces moving forward.
