Got Expungement Order Signed May 11, 2023 - Ar
Hi all - Long story short, in 2017 I was arrested in rural Arkansas on weed charges. I went to court and got it all dismissed as they really had no grounds to lay a DWI on me. Administered wrong test, didn’t do a great investigation in general…The cop asked me how to spell marijuana. The jail also stole money from my wallet. (about 500 in cash, I was a server at the time)
Anyway, it all disappeared until I got a background check for my current job and it showed up on the background check (background check company messed up and said I was found guilty) I got it fixed with them and got my job but never wanted to deal with it ever again so I got it expunged.
The court clerk in AR signed my order to seal on May 11, 2023. It has now been about a year and I can still see my case showing on the AR court connect website.
I can reach out to my lawyer, but at this point I feel like the state of arkansas is being negligent in sealing my records. (also I’m still pissed about the jail stealing my money)
What action can I take if any? This area of AR is KNOWN to be highly corrupt.
