Non-renewed Week After Maternity Leave For “performance Issues”

Friday afternoon at the very end of the day I was informed that my teaching contract would be non-renewed for next year. When I asked why I was told it was due to “classroom performance issues” when I asked what those issues were, I was informed that the person in charge of contracts didn’t know, and to ask admin, so I did and was sent on a goose chase to find out who would know, and never get answers.
Now here’s the thing. I was on maternity leave from the beginning of February until April 28th. Before I went on leave, they had me co-teaching with the long term sub to prepare students for the transition. Since returning they have me co-teaching again, but due to the schedule I’ve only taught twice in the last two weeks. So I haven’t really taught since December. Before that I had one observation and scored very well on it. At no point have any performance issues been brought up any time in the last two years. On top of that I have been harassed by certain admin members all year, to the point that I made a formal HR complaint.
Now I am being barred from meeting with anyone in the administration entirely. This feels wrong? Any advice? Time for a lawyer?
