Non-malicious Comment Lead To Contacting Employer And Threats

I can't believe this is something I'm posting but here we are. Last night a small business in my area posted a negative Google review they received. They're claiming the review came from a veterinarian's office but there is no proof to back this up. This small business posted a whole rant telling all of their followers to attack and leave negative reviews on this veterinarians office's Facebook page and Google reviews and some of them did. Also, the small business left a negative comment on the veterinarian office's page as well and their Google reviews. My husband (who in retrospect probably shouldn't have) replied to the very public post stating that he doesn't believe small businesses should put each other on blast essentially. Nothing malicious was said, I would be the first to say "hey babe, that's too far". My husband's family and now our family have brought our cats and dogs to the vet for years and have had great experiences. Again, nothing was said about the business, just essentially that social media really isn't the place and thought the incitement of keyboard warriors was a bit too much.
Cut to this man deleting my husband's comment, and sending my husband multiple messages where he threatens him. My husband posts in this case a short review that is more and more accurate as time passes, that he has a hostile social media presence. He deleted it shortly after. Not before this man threatens my husband, mentions his place of employment, mentions MY name (his wife), and uses other veiled threats. My husband doesn't reply when he sends him too messages because the comment has been deleted and he didn't do anything wrong, or essentially nothing warrants this behavior in the slightest. We figure "oh he's just unhinged". He friend requests me and we both block his account, not responding to the messages because it's not worth it. Clearly this man has nothing else better to do, that's the end of it? Right?
He emails the company where my husband works making up lies about my husband harassing him on "a daily basis". Keep in mind this is the first interaction he's ever had with this man and it wasn't even malicious. He says he's going to call his office. He posts publically on the company's facebook page essentially the same message he sent in an email. All my husband was trying to do was defend a veterinarian's office. An office that has been amazing to our family for years. We're not worried because we have screenshots of everything this man has sent to my husband. There are still posts up where he's actively inciting harassment to the veterinarian's office and seems to have a history of doing this. The focus is on what the next steps should be for my family. We have both blocked him as well as his business. The threats, contacting my husband's employer, and mentioning my name along with the veiled threats are far over the line.
