Neighbor Claims To Own A Piece Of My Property

So I know the true way to figure this is to get this surveyed and know for sure but does this even make sense. Takes place in PA fyi. Mind you I’ve been here for 6 years and this guy has never talked to me about this line until I started building a garage. He did say “ohh there is nothing to worry about, I think you are far enough off of it” which worries me lol

Neighbor claims to own a small chunk of land. Here is his story. His grandmother allowed the township to move the road onto their property so in doing that it shifted their piece over on the other side of the road(my side of the road) which in my head makes me say how is that fair that he gets to keep his acreage but I lose some of mine? Now mind you this road that was moved was back in the 50’s. My property I’ve gone back as far as 1904 which was recorded in the deed books. In my actual deed for the property it’s pretty confusing with angles and pin locations(bunch of angles on my property). But to me what I can figure out it seems like my road line is true. According to my deed it’s last survey that was recorded was 2007. Also my property map app shows my line following the road with nothing of his on my side of the road. I know the app isn’t 100% correct but I’ve found if it’s been recorded in the last 20 years it’s usually pretty close to following actual property lines that I’ve checked with. I have the name of the survey company that did the 2007 survey and my plans was to call them and see if by chance they have a physical map when they did my property. Then again we live in a small town and the last thing i need is word getting out that I’m challenging this because it will turn into a major headache. Any advice of what to look into?
