My Son Had A Invalid Pediatric Psychological Evaluation Done, How To Proceed..
Location: Western Pennsylvania
My son had a pediatric psychological evaluation completed by a private practice. The evaluation was coordinated by his service coordinator in our county for the purpose of in home services and a dx.
The evaluation was done via zoom by a man who identified himself a psychologist working for X doctor, several weeks later we receive the evaluation, dx and referral for services.
After looking over the evaluation I realized I have no idea who the doctor is that signed off on it. I bring my concerns to my son's therapists who confirms the person who evaluated my son should have signed off on it providing their NPI and Promise numbers along with the main doctor. My son's therapist then takes it to their supervisor who then passes it off to their legal team and quality department. At this point they confirm the evaluation is no good and can't be used.
Their quality team also believes the man who did the evaluation on my son was previously accused of running a fake medical school and has a history of impersonating/pretending to be a medical doctor.
After a lot of back and forth with the office who did the eval they receive an updated copy with the other party's signature on the evaluation where they are listed as a psychological associate with no other information. The service coordinator confirms that this person is infact not a licensed psychologist or a mental health professional at all and they do not have a NPI or promise number and insists it shouldn't matter they do evals like this all the time that go to the agency who is working with my son.
The agency providing services for my son had to pause services and coordinate an internal evaluation to be completed by a member of their team. We are still completing a portion of the evaluation process.
Not only is all of this happening but they dx my son with conduct disorder, when it turns out he in fact actually has autism and adhd.
Where do I even go from here? My son's therapist told me to get a lawyer and file a complaint with the PA Board of Psychology but I don't even know where to begin or how to file a complaint as this situation is truly unbelievable and there are so many layers and people involved.
I'm open to any sight at all and can clarify any details if needed.
