My So Was Sent To A Behavioral Health Facility, Which Seems Like A Scam

Hi, I just wanted some guidance. I am posting on behalf of my SO. She missed a meeting at work, and when her manager addressed this with her, she told him it was due to reverse seasonal depression, as her dad committed suicide around this time of year. Her work asked her to get signed off on some paperwork by a mental health counselor in order to return to work. This facility called her and told her she needed to come to the facility in order to return to work. They basically pressed her to come and said she needed to come to this facility. This behavioral health facility has a parent company in VA where we are, but it is located in South Florida.

Here are some things that happened.

  1. She was supposed to be there 7 days, but was held for 25.
  2. She does not know how this facility got her number, and they insinuated that they were affiliated with her company and that she would get fired if she did not go. Upon her return, her company has denied any affiliation with this facility and stated that she just needed a provider to write her back in to work.
  3. This place's website states that they are a member of the NAATP (National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers) and are a BBB accredited business, but I've contacted both places and neither are true. Multiple other therapies and treatments are advertised on the website that are not true.
  4. Her paperwork from her company was strictly about depression and suicidal ideation, but she was coerced into signing paperwork that she has drug and alcohol problems.
  5. Multiple patients had items stolen by staff, prescriptions, etc. These things were seized by staff at the patient's intake and were to be held by the facility during their stay.
  6. Multiple patients/residents physically threatened her and nothing was done. There were several schizophrenic residents.
  7. They advertise individual counseling sessions for their residents, but she had 1 counseling session the entire time she was there. This is where they tried to coerce her into signing that she had drug & alcohol problems.
  8. They retaliated against her for speaking negatively about the facility by not allowing her any phone calls while she was there. They also told her she was restricted phone calls because she was not going to meetings, which was not true. Then was later told she was restricted calls due to her participation in meetings. She requested to see documentation that shows she didn't attend meetings, but they wouldn't show any documents. They stated multiple times that there a repercussions for everything you do at this facility.
  9. During her intake call, she stated her car was not in a place where it could sit. They told her to leave it and that they would take care of it, but did not. Her friends went to find it, and it was gone. She requested the facility call 911 to report her car missing, which is totally acceptable in our town, if you call the police, they'll let you know if it was towed, where it was towed, or not. 1. It was towed and sat on a lot for 25 days. The car appears to be damaged from the tow. They refused to call 911, and she threatened to walk out to find a phone to call and report her car missing. They threatened her with the baker act for this.
  10. Overall it was a hostile environment, staff yelling at patients, etc.
  11. A patient smoked crack with one of the employees.
  12. They sent paperwork to her mother with fabricated information. Her paperwork for her work was due by April 1st, it was sent to her mother on the 19th. The paperwork says she made suicide attempts in June 2023, which is untrue. It then goes on to state that they are unable to determine whether or not she can resume duties at work and recommends further treatment.
  13. Her therapist stated "I'm going to break you". Generally against the code of counselors.

A couple people who were discharged before her reached out to me based on her request and both believe this place is an insurance scam, which falsely keeps people here longer to fill beds and make money off the insurance. Is there something here? What type of attorney would she need to contact if so?
