My Sibling In Law Is Holding My Dog Hostage From Me
I need help! My sibling in law has my dog and when we ask nicely to pick her up and bring her home they won’t let us. I recently gave birth and moved and had allowed my parents in law to watch my puppy for a couple days while we moved apartments and when we went back to get her they had given her over to my sister in law because they couldn’t handle her. We weren’t informed of this until after it was done. But we didn’t get upset about it, we decided it was fine because it’s only for a week until our apartment is settled in. Once we settled we asked again and were denied and by this point we had only gotten one update on her (3weeks in) during this time my dog ended up getting a uti and we were told it was a uterine infection and needed her ovaries taken out and they needed my approval to do the procedure and because of this misinformation I gave it. And instead of letting us come and see her they tell us to wait the 14days so she can heal and then we can take her back. So we did and now she’s been away for 5weeks and by this point we had only gotten 3 updates on her. We went out to pick her up after the 14days and were told that we have to wait 5 years, or until my child isn’t a baby because she will hurt him, mind you she was around me my whole pregnancy and when we had brought him home from the hospital after birth and never has. I have no clue were to go from here do I take it to court and waste money and resources to get my dog back? Is there a way I can get her back without having to go to court?
