My Mom Is Trying To Get Me Adopted By My Stepfather And Take His Name But He’s Abusive
Just as the title says, I (15f) am being pressured into getting adopted and taking my stepfathers name. I don’t want to take it as he’s abusive and manipulative. As soon as I get out of here I’m moving away and going low/no contact with basically everyone in my family save a few people. We’ve been here four about five ish years and the entire time he’s been physically, mentally, and emotionally abusive. It got a lot worse after they got married but it’s kinda always been there. Is there anything I can do to stay away from taking his last name? Do they need my consent or smth to do it or can they just do it over my head? If you guys need more details just ask in the comments, sorry if it’s a little vague this is my first post???? also don’t dm me unless you’re trying to be helpful I don’t need any creeps creepín in.
