My Dad Is Dying Of Cancer And A Distant Family Member Is Taking Advantage And Stealing All Of His Assets.

Location: MA, USA

My father was diagnosed with cancer and given a month to live about 5 weeks ago.

He is married to my mom and has 2 children.

We all work so he had his distant cousin come to take him to appointments and such. She, while he was drugged up, convinced him to make her power of attorney, healthcare proxy, trustee, etc.

He didn’t have a will and she demanded they get a lawyer down there and draft one up. During which, she locked the doors, made sure nobody could come in and hired someone to stand by the doors.

Since then, she’s removed my mother’s name as beneficiary on his life insurance, his Ira, his million dollar property, and our family home.

She’s currently opening bank accounts in other states to embezzle funds from his Ira and life insurance, as we’ve received mail stating so.

We’ve contacted a lawyer and our current course of action is to try and get a doctor in and assign guardianship. The problem? the cousin has him holed up in a bay in his shop and will not let anyone come. On top of that, he has hours left to live.

The lawyer told us that if we take it to court, she could use his (our) money to fight us.

He’s told us our entire lives that each of his two children and his wife will receive 1/3 of his total assets when he passes.
