My City Prosecutor Made A Deal Without My Consent. What Should I Do?

Card image cap

Location: Missouri. I (female 23) left my ex(male 23) after he attacked me for the second time. I have gotten a restraining order and pressed charges against him for what he did. Though a recent court date has left my dumbfounded. Without my knowledge or my consent, my city prosecutor made a deal with my ex's legal team to give him six months to leave me alone and we'd drop the charges. I didn't know this happened. I saw them talking but was under the impression that they were asking for an extension. Instead they were making a deal that I don't want nor knew about. I had called the court house to ask when the next court date was because no one in that court room told me. They asked if he had bothered me and said I could leave. When I called the court house, I was informed that it was six months out. I was super confused because at most the court date should be two months out. I asked why it was pushed so far out and was informed about the deal. I need help. I'm a single mom on a low income trying to get justice against this man. But at every turn I keep getting told that my ex is young and made a mistake. We have a kid together so I need to get over what happened to me because I'll be seeing him for the rest of my life. I want justice! I don't want him to walk away free without any form of punishment. He was assaulted two police officers as well as his father. He has a history of this but no one is taking me serious. How do I get justice? How do I change the deal that I didn't even agree to? Is there anyway I can make sure that my kid and I don't have to worry about him?
