My Building Management Promised A Free Month Of Rent And Are Now Rescinding The Offer After I Signed The Lease. Is This Legal

Hello

I just wanted to see if this is enforceable by law. I live in New York and I have in email from my leasing office/ building stating that i was getting a free month of rent for being a good tenant and its what convinced me to stay another year. verbatim this is what was said
"I’m offering one free month at your current location, would you proceed with this offer?

and

"The free month will be applied to any month you wish it should be applied to"

When i signed the lease i said i wanted the free month to be applied to the month of December. they said that there was some miscommunication and there isnt a month free and its the reason why i was able to negotiate no increase on my rent.

Can they change their mind, or is what was communicated via email enforceable by law? I am trying to see if its worth hiring a lawyer or a legal aid to help with this matter.

Thanks everyone in advance!
