Mil Needs Help From Fil (california)

Hello Legal Advice.

My In-laws are currently going through a incredibly nasty divorce. He used to beat her, strangle her, wouldn't allow her to get a job or a car.

In the early 2000's she filed for legal separation due to them being apart for his work(working in a different part of CA) he immediately transferred his job to be closer, retrieved court correspondence, forged her signature to receive no alimony or child support, and then went to the court hearing without her knowing it even existed. They stayed together after he moved back.(he wasn't abusive at this point) He forced her to quit her job under the guise that he was working a state job and they no longer needed the dual income and she hasn't worked since.

Currently she has a restraining order against him that he is knowingly violating constantly. She has been staying with us here and there and while she was gone to stay crash on another couch temporarily he came over on the guise of seeing my daughter and immediately went to the spare room that she was using and stealing papers. She happened to return and immediately called the police, he fled, and the police responded and while they were there he returned yelling at her and trying to approach her twice in there presence without them doing ANYTHING about the violations.

We have reason to believe that he has accessed her emails, old and ones she made months after the current separation, is somehow tracking her movements showing up minutes after she leaves, CONSTANTLY asks questions about her when we talk to him to the point that we get flustered and slip up.

Also he had 11 guns before the restraining order. 2 are unregistered and we are unsure of where they are. He sold some(or so he says) and transfered the others to his close friend. This friend has a place that he keeps extra vehicles and the guns where my FIL is CONSTANTLY and the friend no longer is residing at this place(he calls the "compound") and my FIL has free reign of. My FIL has been swapping cars freely. He has one car registered to him but has been we caught him with another parked in his drive way.

We need help. The lawyer that she hired isn't doing his job. He isn't filing the papers when they need filing, hasn't given her ANY resources or info to protect herself, and is treating her like she is a idiotic paranoid lunatic.

If there are any resources that anybody knows of to help us help her I will gladly accept it. She is so beyond stressed from this situation that her blood pressure is consistently in the 180s(Doctor's aren't helping either, not your problem though.)

How do we get the police to stop him? How do we get them to investigate her allegations(she has evidence) of hacking her devices and emails?

She doesn't have any income due to him denying spousal support, cutting off their shared credit card, and canceling all deposits to the shared bank account. All of the money she has is from family helping her and they are getting tired of helping her.
