Marriage License Not Valid In The State I Live In.

I got married in the United States, during Covid, so I didn’t legally change my last name back then. Since then I moved to a different state, and i attempted to change my last name. Changing my last name at the social security office was easy. However, when i went to the bmv to change my last name they told me my marriage license wasn’t valid because there were no witness signatures or an officiant signature. I tried to explain in the state I got married in, witnesses and officiants aren’t needed to be married. My husband and I went to the courthouse in the other state, signed our marriage license, the lady put her signature on it and that was it. I’m not sure what I need to do so the bmv here will accept my marriage license as valid, I even called the the courthouse where we got married and they were confused as to why the bmv wouldn’t accept my marriage license.
