Living In Kansas, Wife Went To Visit Family In Colorado And Took Our Kids… Isn’t Coming Back

Card image cap

Hey all- we moved to Kansas 5 years ago for a job, weathered all of Covid and our marriage barely survived. We’ve been working on it, but she’s been distant. 2 weeks ago she was talking about how much she was missing family and wanted to go visit them for a week. It was the first thing in a long time she seemed excited about. I love her and said go.

I’ve stayed here and worked (I don’t get a lot of PTO). All above board, or so it seemed. We texted some but the kids were always too busy for a call, but like I said, it’s been rough between her and I so I didn’t push. Then she stopped texting, not replying to texts. Not answering calls. I don’t have proof but I think it was her plan all along to try and get her and the kids residency in Colorado.

I just got a text saying she’s done and her and the kids are staying there.

I’m scared I’m losing my kids. I feel like an idiot. I’m not thinking straight. I don’t have a ton of money, but realize I probably need a lawyer at this point. How screwed am I? Please help /r/legaladvice. What do I need to do, what do I need to get
