Landlord Walked In While My Friend And Roommates Were Sleeping, Potential Tenants Took Pictures

My friend was sleeping in his room along with the rest of his roommates when his landlord walked into his apartment and into their rooms with a bunch of potential tenants. their rooms have a pass code lock on it as well so the landlord had to enter the passcodes to unlock their doors. Apparently the potential tenants took pictures as well while they were sleeping, of their rooms.
Is this even legal? They got a two hour notice at 8AM that people were coming in at 10AM. Last time they got a two day notice. From what I know, aren’t landlords supposed to give 24 hour notice before entry in California? They did have a paper on the front door stating that tours will begin during a certain range of days and times but this situation seems really inappropriate and intrusive, it doesn’t seem right. any legal code stating you can’t do this?
