9yr Old Son Questioned At School By Police Without My Knowledge

Last week there was an incident on my son’s bus where I’m told my son and his friend were tickling each other and my son (9 yrs old) allegedly ended up accidentally touching the kids balls. I guess the kid went home and told his parents who ended up calling the police and filing a report. This happened on a Thursday on the way home. The following morning the kid and his parents came to the school and reported it as well. Note. I the parent still have no idea this is happening. So I guess the school had the police come to my son’s school and pull him out of class and without my knowledge or consent questioned him about the incident. The police officer then asked my son if he’s being touched inappropriately at home and if he’s ever seen drugs or foils around our home. Me the parent still have know idea any of this is happening. Well my son gets home from school and as usual I ask him how his day was and what he did. He says he had to talk to a police officer and I’m like WHAT? Like he came in and spoke to your whole class and he says NO just me. Instantly I’m like WTF why? What did he want, what did he ask you? At this point he is so nervous he can’t remember all the details.
Immediately I’m pissed. I get on the phone and contact his teacher and the schools family services director trying to get some answers. His teacher gets back to me and now informs me that it was regarding an incident on the bus the day before but she was like you (me) weren’t contacted about it? Which no I hadn’t. The vice principal ends up calling me and informing me about everything. But I’m pissed. I don’t think it’s right all this happened without my knowledge or consent. Can someone please tell me is this even legal and is there anything I can do about it? There’s more to the story but that’s the sum of it
