Landlord Gave 2 Weeks Notice To Renovate And Doesn’t Want Children On The Property.

My apartment complex wants to renovate our bathrooms and said that anyone under the age of 18 cannot be on the premises. They sent out a mass email with no specific dates but that the renovations would begin on the properties on April 1st. My husband and I are in the process of a military pcs move and broke our lease last month to move out June 8th. Now we’ve gotten a notice saying they will be doing these renovations in our apartment June 6th and 7th and my kids cannot be in the building during that time. I obviously need to be in my home to pack for our move out date, have no where to take my kids and the apartment wants to charge us a $75 rescheduling fee. They will not give us compensation for any rent for the one week we are there in June for the inconvenience. The only notice given directly to us with exact dates was 2 weeks prior to the renovation and after we told them we’re moving. From my understanding, by law they are required to give a 30 day notice with exact dates of renovation when someone of the household is not permitted in the apartment. Is this correct and are they in the wrong?
