Is This Criminal Harassment?
Someone in my town who does not like me investigates my background, when they found nothing they moved onto my family and found something on the record of my spouse. They then went to the court house and got copies of the affidavit and initial charges (not the final) and mailed them anonymously to everyone on my street, many of my friends, and our local reporter’s home address. The packages were mailed in a different city and the postal service has video feed of the person who did this but will not release it without a subpoena.
Over 25 addresses received these packages which has stickers on them saying to stay informed and safe and not for children. The offense was of a sexual nature but with no contact or intent of contact with any victims. It is not a non sexual offense. They are spreading rumors calling my spouse a child predator as well.
Local police (who are friends with who I think is the individual who sent them) says this is not harassment because it has to be a repetitive action and they were all sent on the same day. Is there any recourse here at all to get access to the video showing who did this? This person is in an official position and this behavior would ruin their moral standing.
