Inviting A Friend To Temporarily Stay In My Home Florida

I have a friend who is moving away from a bad situation up north and wants to live in Florida. She doesn’t have a house lined up yet so I’d like to invite her to stay with me while she looks for a place of her own. I’ve heard horror stories where this type of offer gets taken advantage of, and while I don’t believe she would do that, I’d like to cover my bases. What do I need to do to make sure she can’t claim to be a tenant after a week? Do I need a contract? I can’t find anything that exactly matches my situation on Google. Thank you for any advice you can provide.
