I Think My Parents Failed Me And Im Trying To Get A Ged.

So, my parents took me out of school illegally at 14 under the guise they will homeschool me— only, they never properly put me into any program and essentially fucked my education up before I could even start highschool.

Its illegal to drop out before 16 in my state without having some sort of other educational program as its mandatory, and my homeschooling was never properly done at all, never happened, nobody cared— doing this was basically intentional from my parents. I’m 17 now.

My mom threw away my papers from when I was “homeschooled” and they took me out, and I need them to start taking education program classes to get my GED which I studied for and i’m positive ill pass (taken practice tests).. and shes trying to go to/call the school to get papers of proof i’m not attending the school— i’m concerned it will raise flags that I was taken out and essentially thrown away in terms of education when she does this, and i’m wondering if theyll look further or just give her papers concerning my un-enrollment so I can get back on my feet and have a chance in life?

Edit: State is Georgia, small town. I’m well educated on my own despite them basically failing me, I want to get away from them ASAP.
