I Keep Getting Mail That Isn't Mine, Despite Having The Post Office Write Down The Current Occupants Three Times. Is There Anything I Can Do Legally?

Card image cap

as the title says, i keep getting mail that isn't mine. when i first moved into my apartment, i took it all (the mailbox was STUFFED FULL of mail that wasn't mine) to the post office and explained that they no longer lived there. the person behind the desk took down the names of me and my roommate so that only our mail would come through.

that worked for everyone except one previous tenant. i kept getting her mail, and i kept taking it back and telling them that she didn't live there. i wrote "does not live here, return to sender" on the envelopes.

the post office left a form in my mailbox telling me not to write on the envelopes and to write down my and my roommate's names. again. so i did.

it still didn't do anything.

i contacted the previous tenant and she changed her address with the post office. i STILL get some of her mail.

i left a note saying not to give me her mail. they left ANOTHER form in my mailbox for me to write our names down.

i'm sick of wasting gas to take the mail to the post office, and when i leave it in there, they don't take it even when it's been there for months. i'm sick and tired of this.

is there anything i can do legally?
