I Believe Ex-roommate Threw Out/is Withholding My Mail…

Card image cap

Location: Tallahassee, Florida

Context: my college ex-roommate and ex-best friend became incredibly hostile towards me when I set a boundary. Banging the dryer door at midnight and 4am, not letting me sleep (laundry is right outside my room), another instance of doing laundry at midnight, to which I asked my leasing manager for a unit transfer after the fact, and during the process of moving out, eating my food (in our 4x4, none of us have ever shared food) and throwing it away (items missing when I went to retrieve them)

Situation: I had a birthday gift delivered to me, but took a month to come, so it was addressed to the old unit. I went to the leasing office to receive it, and they did not have it. After checking with the leasing office, I went to the website of the mailing company that delivered the parcel, the photos they provided showed that it was delivered to the back door of my old unit with ex-roommate. I went to the location and it wasn’t there, and then asked a different roommate (3 of us were friends, she was a random roommate) if she’d seen it or knew where it was, to which she said she did not, but would ask the other two.

Questions: what do I even do in this situation? Is this something I can go to the police station for to see if they can do anything? Would something of this nature hold up in court?

I am almost certain that the hostile ex-roommate either 1. Threw it out, given prior hostility 2. Is withholding it from me

However, there is no physical evidence that suggests that, so I’m not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
