Husband Hit As A Pedestrian In Parking Lot

Card image cap

Location: New York.

Hood up and he's checking his car because it overheated. Someone backed in to him and pinned his knees between the cars. No visible breaks on x-ray. MRI sees a contusion, thinning of the bone, torn medial retinaculum. Doctor said he basically broke his knee cap. Right leg is essentially fine. This happened beginning of July. He went back to work 2 days, couldn't make it and is back out on disability. Doctor says crushing injuries can take a long time to heal. There's no chance for surgery to fix everything. His likelihood of full recovery isn't great and if he's not back to work by January, will likely be let go.

The person's insurance company has been terrible. He hasn't received anything - not even to cover his lost wages. First person was fired. Second person tells us we haven't been submitting things right but we were never told what to do by the company in the first place.

Is this even a case a lawyer would want to be invovled with.
