Got Sold A Really Good Photocopied Car Title
Bought a car from a Colombian friend’s buddy. All was fine, title seemed perfect, got everything knocked out. Went to the dmv, registered the car, perfect.
The dmv called us back today, saying it was one of the best photocopies they’ve seen, and the previous owner didn’t tell us about a digital lien on the title. I can’t get ahold of the guy, my friend can’t, and I really don’t know what to do. My girlfriend and I are broke and we just need a way for her to get to work. What do I do?? My friend is going to try going to his house, do I call insurance? The police? I’m so lost and stressed out.
Edited for info: we paid 2300 through Zelle, have done around $400 in repairs, and this is in Idaho
