Friend’s Boyfriend Forged Her Signature On Resigning Her Least And Can’t Get Out Of It

My friend is dating a guy she wanted to break up with once her lease with him ended. Unknowingly, he had resigned the lease and signed hers as well (electronically, so no hand signature). She explained the situation with her leasing place and they tried ‘talking to the higher ups’ and were unable to remove her from the lease. She found out about this as the new lease began, when she thought she was moving out.

Since SHE didn’t sign that lease, SURELY she can’t be obligated to stay, right?? The leasing place now is aware that she herself did not sign and she did not intend to sign. She can’t afford to sue. How can she get out of this? It’s now a month of so into the new lease.
