Former Job Paid Me Minimum Wage Because I Didn't Give Two Week Notice??
Location: Eau Claire, Wisconsin
I just got my paycheck on Friday(11/7) for the days I worked from October 13th to the 26th. I had downloaded the pay stub and noticed I got paid at 7:25 an hour (Wisconsin's minimum pay). I worked over 50 hours and only got $300 and some dollars.
The last day I worked was Halloween (10/31) and then I decided I was not going back. So there were three days that week that I also worked that I need to get paid for now.
I messaged my former boss and was wondering why I only got paid at minimum wage and she sent back a little paragraph in our employment handbook that said any further paychecks would be calculated at minimum wage and I was just curious if that made sense why I was being paid that little for 50 hours when it's not even in the same pay period that I quit in.
Like I'd understand if they took it from the check that I was currently working on so the 3 days, but I don't see how it's fair that they paid it on a 50-hour paycheck from 2 weeks before I quit.
