Fiancé Says I Have To Move Out Today. He Says He Does Not Have To Give Me 30 Days To Move, Is There Any Situation In Which This Is True? (mi)

Update: My partner/ex husband/whatever came home and demanded I leave. I stayed calm and told him he needs to formally evict me but things were clearly escalating as we argued. He threatened to call the cops so I called them first to make sure I could explain my side of things in a calm way. I did end up crying. I’m not proud of that.

Basically, I am not an owner of the home so if my ex wanted me out, I had to leave to avoid an escalation. That’s all that cops care about in these situations. My ex agreed to give me $1100 because he “cares” about me (that’s what the cops told me he said). I have never rolled my eyes so hard in my life, lol.

So, it turned into a cash for keys solution? I guess?

I was not surprised this was the cops’ solution. And I’m happy I called them so that they could mediate the disagreement. Looks like my life is resetting a bit. Maybe for the best.

My partner, who is a lawyer, is out of state on business right now. He was upset last night that I wouldn’t really talk to him after a conflict and kept baiting me into an argument. I said I’d be out of his life in 30 days if he wishes (he was being pretty contemptuous and I told him it seems he just doesn’t like me all that much, which is why I said I’d just leave). I understand this was an escalation on my part but I was exasperated with all the character attacks/insults.

He claimed I had to move out by today. He texted me that my “dangerous volatility” was not his problem. He has a history of painting me and others as crazy so I believe he’s trying to create a story that I’m some nut job who won’t leave his house, but there’s no evidence for this. Leaving after 30 days is no issue but leaving within 24 hours is not feasible and he knows this.

I have mail with this address on it, my drivers license and voters registration list this as my address, etc.

It seems that in MI he’d have to give me 30 days to move but he claims this is incorrect. I’m not a lawyer but I believe he’s just trying to scare me. He also revoked access to the two Teslas he owns so that I have to drive my car (which is fine, my car is just a little more unreliable). He also cut me off of the finances. Ironically he claims I punished him somehow because I didn’t feel like “putting to rest” our conflict but his actions seem a lot more punishing.

Is there any situation in which he could force me out 24 hrs after telling me he wants me out? Thank you.
