Ex Girlfriend Was Arrested For Domestic Battery

(California) my ex girlfriend and I were drinking for two days straight one night and she found something she didn’t like on my phone. We were both very intoxicated and had a argument outside on the side walk of my house. She has a past of being suicidal and hospitalizations. She was saying stuff like she was gonna harm herself and disappear so I called the cops. Before cops arrived she ran off and i tried to see where she was going and ended up about 3 blocks away from my house. The police arrived and I told them what she said and they couldn’t do anything about it. I went back home and found her on the sidewalk again. We began arguing again and I began screaming at her and being aggressive like smashing a flashlight and smacking my hands against the wall next to her. At this point she warned me to get away from her space but I wouldn’t listen and kept getting in her face then began pushing me away but then again I wouldn’t listen. It ultimately led to her striking me once in the face and I called the cops. I understand i’m a POS. She ran off again while I was on the phone with the 911 operator and then police came and made a report for DV. I didn’t tell them I was being aggressive at all. Pictures were taken, etc but no marks. Shortly after I went inside and I heard the door open and it was her out of breathe. The police found her and chased her threatening that they would slam her on the hood of her car if she didn’t stop so she ran to my house. Cops arrested her then and there for domestic battery.

Being sober now, she struck me in self defense?, and I want to help her get out of this. What can I do? Do i contact the DA office and tell them the part I left out?
