Eviction Notice But I’m Not On The Lease
I rented an apartment in Florida last year with some friends. They intended to pay to break our lease and move out. I didn’t want to pay the fee, so we all agreed we’d sign to have me removed from the lease and move out first. After I was removed and I left, they apparently stopped paying rent and moved out. I have no idea if they ever paid it or paid to have the lease broken, but I received a letter in the mail with eviction papers addressed to all of us. I sent a text about it to one of them and he said he’d “take care of it”. I am no contact with these friends now for different reasons, so I can’t reach out. However, I’m nervous now…I lived with my parents for a few months so I never thought twice about it after he said he’d deal with it. Now I want to move out and I’m worried there’s and eviction on my record. Does anyone know if it would be? Or how I could check? Or if I could have it removed, if it was on there? Thank you!
