Cops Stranded Me For 4 Days

I was driving home Saturday night at 1 am in OK, I live in SD. Was pulled over by an officer because my liscense plate light had mud on it. Due to a delay with progressive I had no insurance until later that morning (yes it was that quick to fix). So he had me get out of my car, frisked me, and put me in his car without telling me what was going on until I asked before getting in his car. My question was ‘refusal to cooperate’. Then he had my car impounded, in a different town outside his jurisdiction. Did a search of my vehicle without asking or notifying me, with no cause to do so. And then refused to let me out of his car or arrest me. Leaving me no option he took me to a gasstation in a different town his office is not affiliated with, meaning I can’t even walk to the station to get my car released. And they claim because it is a holiday there won’t be anyone able to release my car until tomorrow (Tuesday). I had no past record and nothing to indicate risk or illegal or unsafe behavor.
No I am stranded down here and only reason I’m not starving is because I got a loan from my mom. This can’t be legal to do to someone over a laps of insurance. If it wasn’t for my mom I would end up dead before I can get my car back. Is there any legal action I can take on this? This is far from ‘fair punishment’ for public safety.
