Estranged Mother Died Intestate. What Are My Responsibilities As Next Of Kin?

Card image cap

My mother cut herself off from her entire family about 25 years ago. I was tracked down by the coroner's office where she had been living and notified that she had died from lung cancer. No one in the family has any knowledge of arrangements she may have made and apparently she refused to provide emergency contact information to any of her healthcare providers. What are my responsibilities as next of kin? I don't expect there to be any assets at all beyond the contents of an apartment that the coroner's investigator described as "very cluttered."

Edit: Thank you all for the advice. I've spoken with my family, and we all agree there's nothing to be gained from getting involved. I just wanted to make sure that me saying no wouldn't push the responsibility off on one of my aunts.
