Employer Misclassifying Seasonal Employees As A Scam

This is in Connecticut. Would i be denied unemployment benefits if i refuse to be misclassified as 1099 for a seasonal layoff? Common sense tells me no since i technically dont work for the company for the 3 month winter layoff.
Im planning on changing careers during the 3 month layoff and want to use my unemployment benefits i have accrued working throughout the work year.
I just had surgery and as a 1099 we arent covered for injury (snow removal is dangerous) and all of the tax burden/risks are put on the worker.
Its 100% a scam to benefit the owner of the company to avoid paying taxes/workers benefits.
I just went through this applying for a mortgage, if they dont count me as a full-time employee, how could i get denied my unemployment benefits during a seasonal layoff if i refuse to work as a 1099 if i technically dont work for the company?
TLDR: can i be denied unemployment benefits after getting a seasonal layoff from december-march for refusing to work as a 1099 for the same company?
