Employee Stole $19k What Are My Options?
A long term employee of mine stole 19k over the span of a week while I was away. He did this by purchasing lottery tickets on his debit card and by passing the pin on the machine. He then filed chargebacks with his bank over the span of a couple weeks saying he didn’t make those transactions and they were “not authorized”. Visa is not giving the money back to us, we have recorded video footage, a signed confession, and text messages to back up he did this. I have not yet filed a police report because he is only 24 and not a bad kid just stupid. I will if I have to. But how can I get the money back without waiting on him to pay it back?
