Dog Bite On The Job. Legal Action?

I work for a pooper scooper company. Today I was badly bitten and scratched by a customers dog. I followed all the protocols. Texted the owner before hand, made sure the yard was clear, and entered to do my job. After a few minutes I hear a commotion from the dog door area, then I see a Great Dane barreling towards me. The dog jumped on my back and started biting and scratching. I managed to get out of the yard. I attempted to call the dog owner but their phone line was disconnected. They must have gotten a new number and not updated it with the company I work for. Do I have a case here??
