Do Maintenance Request Qualify As Writing In Lease?

I am having a difficult time getting our dryer vent cleaned. Since this is a huge fire hazard, and it costs around 300 bucks to get done (we had an estimate done) we have decided since it is covered to get it done by our leasing company.

I submitted a maintenance request on May 8th, 8th, 16th, 20th, and 27th with all being canceled to complete our repair. Texas (we live her) is a right to repair under 7 days, but our lease agreement dictates it has to be in writing, can I send an email? Or does the maintenance request work? I have copies of the request just not the break down of what is done. If I get one from them can I use this?
