Divorce Process In Florida
I have been married for 10 years and am seeking to divorce my husband. Our relationship is filled with a lot of abuse. Mostly verbal/emotional. There have been physical abuse within the last 2 years. I know I can suck it up and take whatever comes to me but I have two sons and I don’t want them to be around the constant bickering and belittling. We own a house together. I’m not interested in keeping the house or anything I just want my two boys (both under 10yrs).
I looked online for divorce filing and I’m not going to lie everything looks overwhelming. I don’t know where to start. And I know my spouse won’t easily agree to a divorce especially with the kids involved. But I don’t want my kids to grow up in an abusive home, where they soon think things like this are normal.
I guess I’m confused. How do I start? What happens after I fill out the form and submit? How long would it take? Im also scared of the backlash from my spouse especially if it’s a long process.
