Divorce In Ct

Hello! Looking for thoughts on my divorce. I initiated the divorce. No cheating occurred. Just fell out of love with my husband. Back in 2017, we purchased our home. I was not allowed to be on the purchase because we were not married and went through using a VA loan. He also was the one with the down payment. I had too much debt from school. But essentially the deal was he was putting the money down for the house, but I was purchasing all the insides. We also worked our finances separately. He essentially paid the mortgage and I paid for other bills (insurance, groceries, phone, Internet) stuff like this. I also bought all of our furniture. Fast forward to now. We got married in 2020. I asked for divorce in May. He had an appraisal done our home in July. After hearing his price and knowing what our town appraised our home at, I asked my lawyer to have one done for myself. It was done in October, and the number is significantly more than what he had gotten. My questions are: 1. My lawyer is saying I would only get half of the difference between the appraisals vs. half of the actual worth of the home. Is this correct? Why wouldn’t I be entitled to more? 2. He is living in the home and wanted to keep it. So technically if he were to sell it, I’d get screwed down the road with the sale. Again, isn’t it just kind of a 50/50 thing? Shouldn’t he have to pay me out? I contributed so much more and when we did home projects I did contribute financially. So while my name is not on our home, I feel I deserve half of its worth. 3. When I moved out he made a point to say these were considered assets that I was taking. So if he said that to me, should everything else be included in that? Should I push this more with my lawyer?
