Detained For Dui (0.088 / 0.089 / 0.087 Bac) In Washington - Never Cited, Booked, Or Fingerprinted. What Does This Mean?

Hey everyone,

I’m active-duty Navy stationed in Washington and had a DUI incident recently that I’m trying to understand. I was pulled over by a Washington State Patrol officer in Bellevue on 11/9/25. He told me I was under arrest, took me to the station, had me blow twice, and then released me.

Here are my actual breath-test results from the printout: • First sample: 0.088 (IR) / 0.089 (EC) • Second sample: 0.087 (IR & EC)** Everything was verified and recorded, but that’s all I received — just that breath-test sheet.

Here’s what’s confusing me: • I wasn’t fingerprinted, wasn’t photographed, and didn’t sign any citation or paperwork. • The only document I have is the Evidentiary Subject Test sheet with a “Citation/Case Number• The officer told me if I don’t get anything in the mail before I PCS in March, I should call to update my address.

It’s been a bit now, and when I search the King County District Court and Bellevue Municipal Court sites, nothing shows up under my name.

So I’m wondering: 1. Since I wasn’t cited or booked, does that mean I might not actually be charged? 2. How long does it usually take for Washington prosecutors to decide whether to file a DUI case? 3. Should I stay quiet and wait to see if anything comes in the mail, or should I be doing something right now?

Context: • First-time offender. • No accident, no refusal, no property damage, and fully cooperative. • I haven’t filed anything yet with DOL or court — I’m just trying to understand what’s next and whether I should take action or keep waiting.

Any insight from people familiar with Washington DUI procedures or military-related cases would be really appreciated — especially if you’ve seen borderline BAC cases like this (around 0.09 or less) end up being declined or reduced.
