Can I Terminate This Contract?

So basically the owner of this business is a shark and I can’t bear to stay with him any longer. The trainer I was working with left to start her own training business and I want to stay with her, not his new trainer. He originally told her that she could take the service dog clients and he’d keep the regular training clients. Now he’s taking her to court for attempting to “steal his business”. Is there ANY way to terminate his contract? Please help????

Here’s the contract:

“This agreement is made between Von Dietrich German Shepherds (seller) in Mooresville, Indiana and (buyer) my name my name and contact info

WHEREAS, Buyer desires to purchase and Seller agrees to sell to Buyer the hereafter described dog upon the terms and conditions stated in the agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed between Seller and Buyer as follows:

1) DESCRIPTION OF DOG: The dog sold pursuant to the terms of this agreement is as follows: name, breed, and other info abt dog itself

Price of Dog $15,000.00 This will be split into a payment plan as listed below.

The sales price includes the following: • Buyer will receive AKC Papers at the time of sale or when they are obtained from АКС Every effort will be made to have papers no later than 30 days after sale. • Seller is not liable for any actions of the dog. • The buyer is responsible for any final shots needed or future veterinary care. • Seller is not liable for any veterinary bills. • The buyer assumes full responsibility for the dog. • This dog comes with a 2 year genetic health defect guarantee. This guarantee only covers the genetic health defects that would inhibit the dog from living a normal life, verified by a veterinarian and confirmed by Von Dietrich German Shepherds veterinarian and expires at the dog's 2d birthday. Under this sole circumstance Seller will replace the dog at no cost to the Buyer. • There are no other warranties, implied or expressed, and the Buyer represents that no representations of Seller, other than as specifically stated herein were made to induce Buyer to purchase the dog. • This dog is current on all shots and worming at time of transaction. All dogs are vet certified healthy at time of transaction.

• Sold with breeding rights: No • Price of the Service Dog Package is $15,000.00 • First Deposit of $3,000 will be made on 2/20/2024 • Second Deposit of $__will be made on __ • The Remaining balance of $12,000 will be divided into monthly payments of $500.00 for the next 2 years. • The agreed upon payment withdrawal will be on the 1st of each month. At/or after 9 am each month. • This dog is Co-owned until the final payment is made, if payments are not made the dog will be returned to Von Dietrich within a week of missed payment. • After the final payment the papers for the dog will be transferred to the owner and Von Dietrich will no longer be the Co-owner of the dog. • All sales are final. If the package is not paid in full and the dog is returned, no refund is given due to the training the already received by the dog. • This package includes all training-related services, such as private lessons, board and train (must have advance notice of need due to availability), group classes, task training and public access. • Buyer is responsible for all food, gear, vet needs, supplements (anything outside of training) • At the end of the 2-year training program you will have a fully trained service dog that can meet all ADA requirements for service dog definitions.

Buyer agrees to monthly withdrawal of $500.00
