Can I Take My Neighbors To Small Claims Court For Damage Caused By Their Dog Urinating On My Property?

I live in an apartment complex where my upstairs neighbors have a dog that frequently urinates in our shared stairwell and has even damaged packages left at my doorstep, including a recent Amazon package that was ruined. I've confronted them about this issue, but the problem persists. The dog's owner is a professional dog trainer, which adds to my frustration given the ongoing behavior of their pet. I have video evidence of the incidents, and I've reported the matter to the apartment management, who have only sent generic reminders to residents about pet etiquette.

Given the repeated damage and the apparent negligence in addressing the dog's behavior, am I justified in seeking compensation through small claims court for the damaged goods and potential cleaning costs? What would I need to prepare for such a case?
