Being Sued By Former Employer.

Card image cap

I'm being sued civilly by a former employer in a different state. I signed a non-compete for them upon hire, and during my tenure, started working for another company with 0 client overlap, and I have 0 responsibility for acquiring clients in either one.

Now myself and the current company (I'm just an employee) are being sued civilly for breach of contract, stealing clients, proprietary information, etc., none of which is true.

I guess my question is... What's next? If my new company gets a lawyer can they represent me too? Do I need my own? What can I expect to happen? Will this actually make it to a jury trial? How much of my personal assets are at risk here? (House, vehicles, etc.)?
