Apartment Issues Need Advice.

My roommate and I live in a student apartment complex in my college town. We live in a four-bedroom where we pay rent per bedroom. we did not have any roommates this year. We had to be evacuated from our apartment because we discovered a mold infestation. We're in a temp and we've just been given our permanent apartment. They would not let us see it because people already live in it. But I got the building and room number and I'm gonna go myself. My question is because we had to move apartments not by our doing would we not be expected to receive the same or better apartment i.e. no roommates. I believe there are plenty of four-bedroom apartments in this facility that are vacant. How do we convince the leasing office to give us one of those? They have been not helpful. We've tried to talk to them, but we get stopped at the front desk every time. Not to mention they did a quarterly inspection the week before my roommate and I discovered the mold infestation. So they knew about the infestation and were just gonna let us live there like that with the mold. Can I take this to the news, get a lawyer, or contact the college that's associated with the apartment complex, health department, or any other state department? We're not asking for a lot just asking for the same living situations that we had before we were forced to move out not by our doing. They won't let us stay in the temp apartment because it's a three-bedroom without charging us more. any advice would be great.
